Venue Comments

Built and owned by the Murray Bridge Picture Palace Co, leased to D. Clifford Ltd.
"Clifford presentations continued until the Depression years in the 1930's when the licence, as a place of public entertainment, lapsed. By 1937 the theatre had passed into the hands of the Ozone chain. However this was not the last of Clifford Theatres in Murray Bridge. They returned again in 1940, when architect Chris Smith supervised the renovation of the Town Hall in preparation for the 'Grand Opening' on Saturday 13th April with a programme of 'talkies'"
J. Thiele and R. Lange, Thanks for the Memory, p.56.
