Venue Comments

Since its construction the theatre has had various owners and lessees, screening continuously until 1962/3. Mr Murphy ran the theatre from the 50's until 1962. It was then closed until Mr Grigg started operating the theatre on the weekends (1970-1).

Cinema Record states that the theatre became a second-hand furniture store and then derelict for a number of years. However, in 2001 it was reported that two local residents had taken over the theatre had restored the facade and planned to re-open the building as a multi-purpose community centre.
