Newspaper reference 1934: " The Austral Pictures Proprietary at Naracoorte, for which Mr D. Caldwell is the business manager is considering the erection of a picture theatre in Naracoorte. At present the pictures are being conducted in the institute hall, owned by the town council in conjunction with that body. Plans of the new building have been prepared and are in the hands of the Austral Pictures management" Newspaper reference 1935 reports the Minister of Education, Mr Jeffries will be present at the opening of the new Austral Picture Theatre.
