The theatre was located opposite the Albany Theatre. "A single level and very successful theatre when first opened in the mid 1960s. The theatre was located off Collins Street opposite the Albany Theatre. Tried combing mainstream films with those a little risque in its early years, but poor location and a lack of quality films did not help. Staple diet of the Dendy Collins Street for many years were films like The Language of Love, Loving and Laughing, Bedroom Mazurka, moved over from the Roma. The Dendy Collins Street had a number of very long running films proved very successful after moving into the R certificate film."
