Barnes writes:
"It was a large, barn-like theatre with rows of hard forms for the "cheapies" or inindividual seats- just as hard, but shaped to the body- for the "betters". Prices for admission were 3d, 6d and 1/-, children half price. It was fronted by shops over which was a hall, used as a dancing academy, and from 1927, the home of the Brunswick Club."

The proprietor was a local man named George Smith who later opened the Empire, Brunswick in 1913.

A merger between the Empire, Brunswick and the Lyric to form Brunswick Theatres Ltd.

Later became a Casino, Dance Hall & The Brunswick Club
