Located in the south Sydney suburb of Beverly Hills. The St. James Theatre was opened 22nd November 1940, with a seating capacity for 600, all on a single floor, with a raised stepped section at the rear. The brick facade was quite plain.
In the mid-1970'€™s, it became part of the Hoyts Theatres chain. It went into independent ownership, and was twinned, re-opening as the Beverly Hills Twin Cinema on 25th August 1983.
Today, it is operated by an independent operator, and has been sub-divided into 6-screens, in an expansion of the original building.
