The Jamberoo School of Arts Hall was used sporadically by different travelling picture show companies from 1899 until late 1937. At this time the regulatory body refused permission for the venue to be used for the purpose of film exhibition because the bio-box was deemed to be of non-regulation standard. In 1946 a permanent weekly picture show was established by Sydney-based exhibitor Mr C. Stevenson. The business was sold to Jamberoo resident, Mr J McAuliffe, who continued to exhibit until late 1959. Although the cinema has closed the hall continues to be used for other forms of community entertainment.
