In 1918 listed as 'Four shops being built' and Clifton Picture Theatre listed for the first time in 1919.

Changed management in 1959 from United Theatres and Hoyts to F. Ricco. Started screening Italian films.

First advertising Italian films as the Clifton Hill. September 1964-1983, as run by Carmelo or 'Charlie' Palumbo, of World Film Distributors.

See Il Globo 11 October 1966, p. 6, where the advertisement for screening at the Cinema Italia reads, "for the ninth anniversary of World Film..."

Film screenings advertised in The Herald as the Clifton/ Clifton Hill up until 1965.
