According to CATHS opened in 1938, seating capacity of 1450.

Australasian Cinema (7 December 1979, p. 47.) reports a fire in the Paramount theatre in May 1979.

The Age (11 May 1979, p. 5) "Theatre is destroyed" - refers to a fire on 10th May 1979 which destroyed the Paramount Theatre.
