Moving pictures courtesy of different travelling shows between1898 and 1915 when local businessman Godfrey Hanscom established a permanent cinema "Electric Star Pictures" in the premises (Parkinson 2010, p10). The business survived until 1921after which the hall was once again used by travelling spicture show companies. The first Talkies shown in Moruya were screened at the Centennial Hall venue in February 1931. By the middle of the decade the building had fallen into disrepair was demolished in 1934 (Parkinson 2010, p10-15). The Liberty Theatre was built on the site.
