Venue Comments

First purpose built cinema in Bateman's Bay.
In 1958 an open-air venue was opened adjacent to the original building. Annett exhibited films at both venues the closure of the open-air theatre in 1961. Annett continued to run the original enclosed cinema until 1973 when he retired possibly due to ill health (Parkinson 2010, p8).

There is no evidence of screenings taking place over the next two years, however, in 1975 William Bardsley-Smith leased the premises and the theatre reopened. Two years later the lease transfered to K & D Clark who kept the cinema operational until 1979.

The building was demolished in the early 1980s.
