Venue Comments

Film exhibition began in the School of Arts Hall shortly after the buildings opening in May 1913 and for the next decade continued under the direction of several different exhibitors on a regular basis. The exact date or circumstances of the demise of film exhibition from this site are not known but the practice had certainly ceased entirely by 1939 when the buiding, now owned by the Returned Sailors and Soldiers' Imperial League, was remodelled.

Between 1915 and 1917 the venue was referred to as Pictoria Pictures.
