Between 1902 and 1907 the Cambewarra School of Arts was used by travelling picture show companies for the exhibition of films, notably the Rev S H MacDade of the Salvation Army (Parkinson 2005, p. 11). No further use of the hall for the purpose of the exhibition of film can be found until 1949 when the Better Film Movement of the Nowra Presbyterian Men's League used the premises for the display of 16mm film. This activity had ceased by 1953 (Parkinson 2005, p. 11).
